You Will Fail If You Choose to Wait Until It's Perfect
The longer you wait, the greater the chance of failure.
When we want to get something done right, we do a lot of research. We look for a lot of information to support us in getting it done. And we spend a lot of time doing this research.
There's nothing wrong with starting with a search for information to support our plan. But sometimes we get confused by the word "perfect"
While we wait for the "perfect" to arrive, our plans are delayed. Some people might say, "We should search enough information to add more options for the plan to start our program. As long as we've done our best preparation, we won't have any unnecessary problems later on." I agree with that, but that's not who I am now.
There's no such thing as a perfect plan.
Don't think you have to make the plan flawless. That's impossible. The only thing to do in the process of implementing the plan is to slowly make changes. I used to think that if I had the perfect plan and looked for all kinds of information, I would be able to win all the battles. But I found out that as long as I waited longer to open the plan, the higher the chances of failure. In other words, we will gradually give up these plans that have been set up in the process of waiting or lose the desire to start.
We may find lots of reasons not to start, like lots of failures from others in our search or discovering that the program we're trying to do has a lot of big problems. This discovery will slowly reduce our motivation to move forward, plus amplify our fear of negative consequences.
Opportunities can easily slip by.
As we look for a plan and think it through, we miss out on opportunities that could have worked well because we wait too long. Opportunity doesn't wait for anyone. We need to make the most of every moment.
Summary
I've been making the switch from waiting until the plan is perfect to actually practicing the plan and making changes to the original plan. We should remember that there's no such thing as a perfect plan. There's only a better plan and a way of dealing with the problems that come up along the way.
