Only with Sufficient Knowledge and Mindset Can You Seize Unexpected Opportunities and Wealth (4)
Today's title is a phrase that has deeply resonated with me recently. But what does it mean, and what have I realized from it?
Only with Sufficient Knowledge and Mindset Can You Seize Unexpected Opportunities and Wealth
In this era of rapid information exchange, we can learn about daily events and new developments through the internet. As a result, countless opportunities and wealth are hidden within this vast network.
These opportunities and wealth appear before us in a subtle, almost elusive manner. Without the wisdom to see them, we cannot grasp these opportunities and wealth.
In reality, the same principle applies. Why is it often said that if you don't seize an opportunity, it will quietly slip away? One reason is that opportunities and wealth are either snatched up by others or swept away by the tides of time.
What you see online is not unique to you—others see it too. When everyone is accessing the same information at the same time, seizing the wealth and opportunities within that information depends on one's knowledge and mindset.
Why do some people become millionaires, multimillionaires, or even billionaires in a short period? Some say, "These people must have accumulated good karma in their past lives, so they have the fortune and luck in this life." Others say, "It's all a scam. How can anyone make so much money or become famous so quickly? It must be a marketing ploy."
I won't argue with these viewpoints, as it's true that some people win millions in the lottery by sheer luck, and others rent cars and homes to market themselves, attracting more money.
However, I have always had a different perspective. I believe the issue lies in our cognitive differences, which indirectly affect the level of information we can access. Our mindset limits us to seeing only the marketing and luck at play in the present stage.
When it comes to luck, the world is indeed unfair, which is why luck plays a role in our lives. But why do we cling to this point? Does the absence of luck mean we should give up on improving our knowledge and mindset?
In my view, a person's status is determined not by wealth but by the knowledge and mindset within their mind. When you possess enough knowledge and mindset, you can gain wealth and opportunities that align with your level of understanding. This is what I've come to realize. Recently, I've noticed that what seemed like missed opportunities to me were, in fact, seized by others, who turned them into wealth by leveraging their understanding.
For example, some people believe that having money means it shouldn't be spent frivolously and should be safely stored in a bank. Others, who have financial literacy, choose to invest their money while keeping only emergency funds in the bank. In the end, those who left their money in the bank receive low-interest returns, while those who invested enjoy higher returns.
I'm not saying you should invest, but I want you to see how knowledge and mindset differences create different outcomes.
Now, let's talk about opportunities. During the pandemic in 2019, online shopping became incredibly popular. Some people only shopped online, while others saw the profit potential and started cross-border e-commerce businesses, capitalizing on regional information gaps and exchange rates. Many of those who did this have since become millionaires.
This is what it means to see an opportunity. Those who spot opportunities often think differently from others. To them, an ordinary online shopping platform becomes a place to earn profits through price differences.
Imagine one day, wealth and opportunity fall from the sky. Do you think you'd be able to catch them?
I don't know what you think, but as for me, I know I wouldn't be able to. Even if I did catch them, I wouldn't be able to hold onto them firmly.
Imagine being very hungry one day, and a giant pie suddenly falls from the sky. Someone lacking knowledge and mindset might think they can catch it with just their hands. But it's obvious that a pie much larger than your hands can't be caught that way.
Another group, with decent knowledge and mindset, would know to use a large frame to catch the pie. They might catch it, but in their haste, they would try to eat it immediately, only to drop the whole thing on the ground.
Finally, those with sufficient knowledge and mindset would use a large frame to catch the pie and think about how to eat it properly. They might cut it into smaller pieces, ensuring none of it goes to waste.

In conclusion, knowledge and mindset are the wings that help us soar above fierce competition. Only by continuously accumulating knowledge and cultivating our mindset can we act swiftly when opportunities arise and move towards the shores of success.
